u cant instant meesge people on deviant art but u can send them notes by going to your message place and click on notes and send it to the person. and when u mwan by icon... u mean your avatar right? u can go to this link.. > [link] <this link has many avatars, but, they are mainly from anime shows. u have 2 make sure that your avatar is 50x50 or less, cant be any bigger than that size. the avatar also must be a PNG, JPEG, or an GIF image and must be smaller than 15 KB. once u get an avatar that is okay u need to save it under your pictures. to use u go to your settings and then profile. on the left side you'll see avatar information. there is a browse button near it. You press the browse button and get the avatar that u want. then u press ok, the button ok will be at the botom right.
